A century-old Karst homestead, once the beloved home of our family, has been carefully restored with deep respect for tradition and a love for heritage — so that its authenticity would never be lost.

Today, it houses four boutique apartments, thoughtfully designed for those who appreciate the beauty of the Karst region and the peaceful rhythm of nature. Every corner of the homestead tells a story — of stone that has withstood time, and of moments you’ll want to remember.

Welcome to a place where tradition lives on — in the quiet, in nature, and in the simple beauty of the Karst.

Apartment Kašča

The spacious apartment on the first floor offers comfort, tranquility, and a welcoming sense of home.
At the heart of the room is a large double bed and a wood-burning stove that brings warmth and a cozy atmosphere.

A unique feature of the apartment is a reading nook set in a raised loft — once a traditional granary — accessed by wooden library-style stairs.
This quiet corner, complete with a mattress, is perfect for afternoon reading, quiet reflection, or simply resting in peaceful seclusion.

The apartment also includes a separate kitchen equipped with all the essential utensils, as well as a bathroom stocked with locally crafted toiletries.

Apartment Pod

The apartment is located on the first floor and extends over two levels, connected by wooden stairs that add warmth and character to the space.
On the lower level, you’ll find a spacious kitchen, a dining area with a wood-burning stove, and a bathroom equipped with boutique toiletries.

The upper level is bright and airy, with an open ceiling and a generous sense of space.
Here, a double bed stands where a small room once stood — affectionately known by the family as the “pod” — from which the apartment takes its name.

Apartment Nežno

This ground-floor apartment is a heartfelt tribute to the past — both in its layout and in the story it carries.
At its center is a double bed facing a wood-burning stove, which gently warms the space with its comforting heat.
A spacious kitchen with dining area and a bathroom stocked with locally crafted toiletries complete the apartment.

The name “Nežno” (meaning “gentle” in Slovenian) is no coincidence. In the 19th century, this part of the house was known as “pri nežnih” — “at the gentle ones’” — a name that comes from Neža, a young woman from a poor village family to whom the Ščuka family gifted this part of the home in 1840.

In 2010, the Ščuka family lovingly bought the space back and restored it — gently and respectfully — just as befits a place with such a story.

Apartment Kambra

This first-floor apartment spans two levels, where tradition meets the comfort of modern living.

The lower level is a warm, open space with a cozy living room — perfect for relaxing on the sofa while enjoying the wood-burning fireplace that brings both warmth and character to the room.
It also features a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a bathroom — all designed with a focus on homeliness and functionality.

A large open wooden staircase leads to the upper level, where two separate bedrooms each offer a double bed — an ideal layout for families.

The apartment’s name is rooted in the history of the house. This part of the home once held two separate rooms, traditionally called “kambra” in the Karst dialect. Today, the apartment preserves the spirit of that past, enriched with the comfort of modern living and the warmth of natural materials.
